Hopefully you know that tracking the conversion rate of your website is a good idea, but what about your sales operators who pick up the phone and actually speak to a live person?

I am amazed how this aspect is overlooked by business owners. I mean, you sit there and work on your website day and night. You look at each little thing that maybe doesn’t even make a difference when people shop and yet, you’re missing a big sign in front of you.

Here is the best way to go about tracking conversion of your sales operators.

Just keep track of how many calls come in, how many convert to a sale and how many convert to a brochure or some other sort of conversion goal. At the end, award the best sales person for a job well done.

Besides incentives and drive to do better, tracking phone conversions can actually produce more value to you.

For example … if your sales drop, before dissecting your site and spending 20 hours looking at your web analytics, you can go see if there has been any change in the phone conversion rate. This is the best way to see if your team is getting back at you for not giving them the New Year bonus. :-)
