Observation: 7 Characteristics of Successful (RICH) People
By Igor Mordkovich on Mar 12, 2007 in Business Wisdom, General
Ok … quick and fun post about successful business people. No I have not studied 300 CEOs. This is just from my own experience meeting people who have made it big in the business world.
Here we go.
1. Love what they do - it’s a bit of a cliche but this is what makes them SOOO detail oriented. It drives many people nuts but being so detailed about what they do helps them succeed.
2. Competitive - they do want to win. If you imagine them play a game of Monopoly, they’ll be the ones buying stuff and arguing about property.
3. Risk takers - in a way they are less responsible than your usual “master degree accountant or financial whiz”. They can put it all on the line. This is the biggest reason why some people own companies and others seek a stable job waiting for that 401K plan to kick in.
4. Great communicators - they can keep up the conversation and they can approach you easily without hesitation.
5. Kiss ass - they know when to play nice, be an ass and also when to kiss ass. As long as it does well for the baby (company) it’s all good.
6. They are OK with cutting corners sometimes - No, they are not pathological liars but they do know when rules can be bent a little to get what they want.
7. Glow - They have that vibe. They have that “leader” seal on their forehead. If they enter a room, they take most of the attention on themselves.
Most people are born with above qualities and many acquire them with time. Either way above 7 points are not to be taken as a seal for success. It’s whatever works for you that makes you successful.
That’s all folks.
